Profanity Filter
In today's digital age, online platforms often grapple with the presence of profanity in user-generated content such as reviews. To maintain a clean and respectful environment, implementing a profanity filter is crucial. This guide will walk you through the steps of activating your profanity filter and ensuring its effectiveness
Step 1: To activate the Profanity filter, navigate to Settings >> General Setting >> At the bottom of the page, you will find the option to Enable Profanity Filter.
Step 2: Choose your filtering method
- Replace banned words with asterisks (***) and publish review :
This is a common approach where banned words are replaced with asterisks. This can be effective in minimizing offensive language while still allowing the review to be published.
- Hide review containing banned words :
A stricter approach involves hiding reviews entirely if they contain banned words. These reviews will be flagged as "Unpublished" in your reviews dashboard for you to review manually.
Step 3: Customize your blocklist
- Use Standard blocklist (Default) : We offer pre-built blocklists with common profanities. Consider using these as a starting point for your filter.
- You can customize or enhance the default blocklist to fit your specific needs by unchecking the above option. This will enable you to add your own words as profanity
