How to create Custom Field?

(Note:- The Functionality will work only with the Shopify Plus store.)

It is possible to display a custom field on the checkout page. This field will appear in the section where customers provide their name and address details, and the information they input will be shown on the Shopify order. It will function as shown in the screenshot below.

Follow the below steps to create a custom field:-

1. Open the app >> Go to Checkout Elements >> Click on the "Create Block" button.

2. Click on the Continue button in the Custom Field.

3. Add a name for the block, it will only display to the admin to identify the specific block.

4. Block Visibility: When managing multiple custom content blocks, this option will help you to prioritize their display and adjust their positions. In such cases, the block visibility feature can be utilized. You will need to assign a specific number to each block for prioritization. This same number should be selected when configuring the block in the checkout editor.

5. Display rules: The block can be displayed to all customers or to specific customers based on the selected condition.

• Show to all customers: Show the block to everyone who visits your checkout page.
• Only show when...: Define specific conditions to determine when the block should appear.

• All Below: The block displays only if all defined conditions are met.
• Any Below: The block displays if any of the defined conditions are met.

6. Select the field place where you need to display the information added by the customer on the Shopify Order page.

7. Type the heading name and add the type of field you want to display, i.e. Checkbox, Choice list, Date Picker, Date of Birth, Dropdown, Phone Field, Text Input and save it.

How to enable custom field block in the checkout page?

1. Go to the Shopify Setting >> Checkout >> click on the "Go to Checkout Editor" button.

2. Click on Add app block from botton left corner and add "Custom Field" block and save it.

3. Now customize the block design and save it so it will start to display on live store checkout page.
