Integrating Reviews with Google Shopping Product Listings

Rivyo Product Reviews allows merchants to integrate their reviews into Google Shopping Feed using an XML Product Reviews Feed, to display reviews, ratings and photos on Google Product Listing Ads:

To sync your review data to Google Shopping, please read this article carefully and follow the instructions.

Google’s Requirements

Google has strict guidelines regarding who can integrate reviews into Google Shopping, and regarding how the integration should be done. If you want to sync your review with google shopping feed then the most important requirements are:

  1. You have more than 50 reviews
  2. Syncing all your reviews (including reviews with low ratings)
  3. Reviews must not violate copyrights, be offensive or spammy

We will include all of your approved reviews in the XML feed. If you will approve only higher ratings (4star-5star) reviews only and hide lower rating reviews then google may reject your feed. So we are recommended to approve all reviews and ratings.

Read Google’s full policy here. Note that Google will manually review your XML file submission and can reject the integration at its individual preference.

Applying

  1. Login into your Google Merchant Center account. If you don’t have an account yet, You can sign up directly from here.
  2. Apply for the product reviews feed integration by filling in Google’s Product Ratings Interest Form.
  3. Under the form "If you use a third-party service, which service do you use?", answer “Other” and specify “Rivyo Product Reviews” in the given text box.
  4. You will receive an email from Google merchant center saying that “Your aggregator, 'Rivyo Product Reviews', does not have an approved partner for the Product Ratings program with Google yet [...] So in the meantime, "<Your Store>" can send direct product ratings to feed to Google”. This means that while Rivyo Product Reviews is in the process of becoming an “approved product ratings partner”, you can still integrate your reviews into Google Shopping using the XML feed which we will provide you.
  5. Reply to this email and tell Google that you will submit a direct product ratings feed to your Merchant Center.

Integrating Your Rivyo Product Reviews to Google Shopping

How to copy your XML feed Link? Please follow the steps

  1. Go to the "Google Shopping" section of your Rivyo settings.
  2. Set up your reviews feed's Product IDs based on the information you sync with Google Shopping.

Example of product information involved in your Google Shopping feed:
    1. Important: If you use global product identifiers such as GTIN or MPN, please specify in which Shopify Product field we should read them from.
      1. Note: These identifiers enable Google to match reviews to the correct products from the Products Feed you sync to Google. If you only use SKUs as identifiers, no worries - we will automatically add them to your XML feed. Learn more about product identifiers here.
    2. If you sync your products using Shopify's Google Shopping app, your feed will include a unique item_ID of "shopify_{country code}_{product_ID}_{Variant_ID}"

Rivyo Product Reviews will automatically include this same Item_ID in your Reviews feed in order to match your product feed.

While the product_Id and variant_Id are taken automatically from your Shopify products, the country code can be changed depending on which country you sell to using Google Shopping.

By default, this will be set to shopify_US. If you sell on Google Shopping outside the US, please enter the relevant country code, as it appears in your Google Shopping feed, in the "prefix" field of the Google Shopping section:
